Kansasland

It dawned on me when my mom was here that there are some phrases that we're used to hearing that describe where I live.  She experienced the "rolling thunder."  Anyone ever wonder what "amber waves of grain" looks like?

The grain isn't tall enough yet, and today was a still day, but the "waves" take on a different look when the wind blows through.

And for corn, the rule is "knee high by 4th of July."

This is my home, and I find it not dull, boring or ugly, but beautiful.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I feel sorry for all the poor souls who drive through Kansas and can't find the beauty in God's creations.
