June

Our computer fell to its deathbed with viruses, so I haven't been able to write in about a month.  Our new laptop arrived in the mail yesterday.  Tommy likes having Youtube back, Katie likes testing out the keyboard, and I like having my communication and research tool restored to me.

Early in June, we got a new missionary, Elder Draper.

Tommy was so excited, he showed off by running around giving Katie a ride on his shoulders.  He also spun in circles (without Katie), and nearly hit his head on the game table and piano bench several times.  We were all scared for his life.

We're not sure if he was doing all of this to impress the new missionary, or if it was because we didn't know yet that we should be giving him HALF a vitamin instead of a WHOLE one.

I love seeing Tom and Katie's friendship develop.  Tom cuddled her while I showered and they watched his favorite Youtube video, on repeat.

Yep, you guessed it, Lori.  The Harvard baseball team's Call Me Maybe dance video.

Thursday, June 14th, we knew had a thunderstorm blowing in, yet still decided to go to the park for 2-year-old Eden's birthday party. We got rained out. Okay, that was an understatement. We had a severe thunderstorm for an hour, and steady rain for another hour after that. Here are the pictures from after the storm. The colors are true to what it really was.

Rainbow

This doesn't show the true colors, but it shows the rainbow better.

We didn't have any house damage, and only incurred a single broken branch on our black walnut tree.

Our neighbors down the street had a tree fall down.  Luckily, it missed their house and, at first glance, missed their bear statue, too.

At second glance, I saw that the baby bear had been beheaded.

We went for a walk and saw truck after truck full of broken branches.  This is a huge tree at a park (not the same one we were at) that fell in the storm.

Taking pictures of my kids sleeping never gets old to me.

We bought a doll and stroller at a garage sale for Tom.  He loves his baby.  He feeds her bottles, and cuddles her when she cries.  He lays her down to sleep in bed with him at night, and spins her like his dada spins him.  And sometimes, he lets Katie babysit her on walks.
